Hello new VGTU project and staff! Happy to see you guys back! :-)

I just catched some new tasty WUs. They were running without problems, but 3 were marked as invaild and the other 17 are marked as "validation inconclusive".
(See here)

I am trying another 20 WUs right now.

Oops, sorry, wrong URL... The link to the tasks on my computer is here: http://boinc.vgtu.lt/vtuathome/results.php?hostid=160.

Meanwhile most of the "inconclusive" results must have been validated but 5 are now marked as "invalid".

I managed to get 1 WU validated, but now everything goes into pending despite an IR/MQ of 1.

Early days though :)

Cheers,

Al.

Just noticed that the validator isn't running. That would explain it :)

Yes, but all my own tasks are passing the validation successful. Right now. This is a bit strange.

Yes, odd. A few of mine have validated now, but only about 10%. And indeed all of yours are validating.

Perhaps the validator is 'bouncing' and you've just been lucky to always catch it when it's up :)

Add me to the list, between 0.00 and 1.11 seconds then Work Unit crashes.

Now have 14 validated and 340 pending.

I have found bug in validator – it was crashing in some cases and automatically restarting until next crash. I've not seen it in my own small tests. Sorry for that, our validator is not trivial, because we want to avoid replication.

Most of my pendings have been validated meanwhile.
However there's 14 WUs that still say "validation inconclusive" whilst my wingmen already got their credits. *snif*

What is wrong with my results?

I've checked logs: "permanent upload error" for the result files, and so validator couldn't open them for validation.

V.

Wow, that's strange... I didn't see that in the stderr_out.
And if I remember correctly I didn't have any upload problems... *scratches head*

Well, one can't have all I guess. ;-)

boinc client 7.x.x

David Anderson, boinc_projects email list wrote:
"Upload certificates" are a mechanism that keeps bad guys from DoS'ing your upload servers (note: such an attack has never happened, as far as I know).

We're changing the format of upload certificates, and we're starting to test a version of the client for which old-format certificates won't work. Volunteers testers won't be able to upload completed jobs, and they may complain to you.

I suggest that all projects disable upload certificates. To do so, add the following to your config.xml file:

<dont_generate_upload_certificates/>
<ignore_upload_certificates/>

To resume using upload certificates, if you wish:

1) upgrade to the current server source code (from trunk)
2) wait for all jobs with old-format certificates to be dispatched
3) re-enable certificates by removing the above lines.

Let me know if any questions.
