Validation problems?
(Message 47)
Posted 482 days ago by NATE1 boinc client 7.x.x David Anderson, boinc_projects email list wrote: "Upload certificates" are a mechanism that keeps bad guys from DoS'ing your upload servers (note: such an attack has never happened, as far as I know). We're changing the format of upload certificates, and we're starting to test a version of the client for which old-format certificates won't work. Volunteers testers won't be able to upload completed jobs, and they may complain to you. I suggest that all projects disable upload certificates. To do so, add the following to your config.xml file: <dont_generate_upload_certificates/> <ignore_upload_certificates/> To resume using upload certificates, if you wish: 1) upgrade to the current server source code (from trunk) 2) wait for all jobs with old-format certificates to be dispatched 3) re-enable certificates by removing the above lines. Let me know if any questions. -- David |

Posted 488 days ago by NATE1 creditnew is really a 4 letter word. this is and example of what creditnew did to me. 2 workunits on another project. workunit 2 was always 3 seconds behind workunit 1, same computer different cores. in other words downloaded, started, completed, upload, and reported, wu 2 was 3 seconds behind wu 1, even the time stamp on the server was 3 seconds between the 2. both validated. wu 1 gave 196 credits, wu 2 gave .68 (yes point six eight) creditnew is a 4 letter word. :p |
