Dear VGTU project@Home users,

We have decided to stop the computations with the current application for grillage optimization. Some results have been obtained. We have prepared and submitted according publication, which is currently under review. However, new ideas are needed to move forward.

Now, we stop the generation of new tasks and wait for all results to return back to the project server.

Next, we will update the server software to support GDPR - the European General Data Protection Regulation.

We thank you for active participation and wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

With best regards,
The Project Team

Thanks for the update Vadimas. And thanks for fixing the "posting issue" I mentioned. :)

May all the inconsistencies be traced to human cognitive error and not data collection faults.

Hi!

Maybe this is wrong, but I do not want to release new WUs (which are not really needed for our research) just to keep volunteers busy and attached to the project.

We have finished revision of our paper and sent it for the second review round. Now, we wait for the results. Therefore, most probably there will be no new WUs within the next couple of months.

Next, depending on the success we will need to discuss within our group whether or how to proceed with the current application. I remind that the current application is the result of collaboration between two departments of our university.

Currently, I have a proposition to deploy to the public project another application developed by master student on our private BOINC project. It is searching for Proth prime numbers. Maybe I am wrong again, but I am reluctant to do that. Personally, I don't see scientific value in such application.

Regards
